The 9th Irish Open Masters

Cork Masters succesfully held the 9th Irish Open Masters Swim Championships 2009 at the Leisureworld Complex in Bishopstown, Cork, Ireland on Saturday 2nd May 2009. Events were held over 50 and 100 metres in all strokes, 200 metres Freestyle and 200 metre relays in Freestyle and Medley.

Entry Fees

€ 8.00 per individual event and € 20.00 per team for team events.

Rule & Conditions

1. All competitors must be 19 years or over on 2nd May 2009.

2. Age Groups (Men and Women)

A1 19 years – 24 years
A. 25 years – 29 years G. 55 years - 59 years
B. 30 years – 34 years H. 60 years - 64 years
C. 35 years – 39 years I. 65 years – 69 years
D. 40 years – 44 years J. 70 years – 74 years
E. 45 years – 49 years K. 75 years – 79 years
F. 50 years – 54 years L. 80 years – 84 years.
M. 85 years – 89 years N. 90 years and over.

3. Events

All events are Heat Declared Winner in Age Classification. In each event swimmers will be seeded according to their entry time and will compete against those with similar times from the various groups taking part in the event. You may enter a maximum of six individual events.

1. For All Age Groups

50 m, 100m and 200 m Freestyle
50 m and 100 m Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly
100 m Individual Medley

2. Team Events
One team per club for each age group.
Swimmers in the A1 age category are only eligible to swim in the relay events # 16, 17, 33 and 34.
Events # 5 - 15 and # 21 - 34 are considered as one event each.
A swimmer may only swim in one medley or freestyle relay.

4 x 50 m Freestyle and Medley Relays
A. 100 Years and Over (Total Age)
B. 120 Years and Over (Total Age)
C. 160 Years and Over (Total Age)
D. 200 Years and Over (Total Age)
E. 240 Years and Over (Total Age)

The organisers will have entry cards prepared for those relays, which have been
entered prior to 10th
April 2009. These cards will have to be collected from the information desk in the entrance lobby by the team captains/coaches at the start of session 1 on Saturday morning. Names and date of birth of each team member must be entered on the card and all cards will have to be returned to the recorder prior to the start of the gala (9:30am).

Entry cards are in use in relay events only.

NOTES:

A. Age as at 31 December 2009.

B. Individual competitions are restricted to a maximum of six events.

C. Competitors may only represent one club in the competition.

D. In the team events, clubs may not enter more than one team per age group and
there is no upper age limit.

E. All individual events will be seeded slowest to fastest from the submitted entry
times irrespective of age as per programme. No cards will be in use with the
exception of relay events.

F. Entries will not be accepted without an entry time.

G. Ages of teams are total age as at 31st December 2009 and must be from the
same club.

H. The organisers reserve the right to limit entries if necessary.

I. Health and insurance are the responsibility of the entrant.

J. ALL COMPETITORS MUST COMPLETE & SIGN AN ENTRY FORM.
THEREFORE, ENTRIES BY TEL/FAX CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.

 Single = 65 euro per night
Twin/Double = 55 euro per person sharing per night.
2 nights b/b and 1 Dinner = 120.00 per person sharing

Residents of Brookfield Hotel have the use of a 25m swimming pool which is located on the Brookfield Complex. Brookfield Hotel is located on College road and is a 20 minute walk from Flannerys Bar, Glasheen Road.

 

 

Evening social event after gala

 

Cork Masters will be hosting a social evening on Saturday night 2nd May 09 following the gala. The event will be held at Flannery’s Bar on Glasheen Road. The event will be informal with the emphasis on relaxing and having some fun. We will have finger food and entertainment. We will do the presentation of trophies but the formalities will be kept to a minimum.
There is no cover charge for gala entrants to this event.
